Areas to check in the front wheelarches

Areas to check in the front inner wings are the lower shock absorber mounting, the front splash panel (sill end cap), in extreme cases rot can be found around the spring mounting on the bulkhead.

Rot on the front hockey stick

The picture above shows the begining of hockey stick rot. This has to be checked from undernath the car, although you should be able to rust evidence along the inner wing panel.
